Some of the coolest things I ever did, I did in the US Navy. And, I had a completely boring stint as it were.
My all-time favorite was a fire-fighting training exercise were we were put into a steel room that is filled waist deep in diesel, then set on fire while you are in it. It taught me how to trust the equipment, trust your shipmates and kick arse.
